Hi, I'm Andrew, a highly creative and multi-talented Senior Designer with a passion for creating meaningful, useful, and inspiring user-centric designs. A dynamic team player with a background in visual communication and extensive experience in effectively translating brand strategy into visually engaging designs. I’m accustomed to performing in deadline driven environments with a well developed ability to build and maintain “win-win” partnerships through exceptional collaborative and interpersonal skills.

As Amazon/Audible’s first Senior Lead Designer my primary focus was brand design, this meant that I lead all creative efforts for marketing communications – ads, emails, campaigns, product launches – in addition to owning all brand definition and development for the company, including the look and feel, messaging, and general corporate identity. The main objective of my position was to ensure that there was a consistent, meaningful, and memorable expression of the brand through all touchpoints.

In addition to having strong technical and artistic skills, I'm great at communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams and translating requirements into excellent design that blends functionality with creativity. My role isn’t just to make an attractive email or design a pretty brochure; I’m responsible for communicating a brand’s vision in a clear, concise, but aesthetically pleasing way. This requires a good grasp of successful marketing practices and problem-solving skills to ensure I am representing the correct vision and information for a brand.

I’m very comfortable using the Adobe Creative Suite and am particularly experienced using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, and Animate. In my previous role, I primarily used Adobe Photoshop for artworking, Illustrator to create vector designs, animate for motion, Figma for prototyping and InDesign for layout projects and marketing materials, including posters, magazine ads, and brochures.

On an average day, you might find me collaborating with different stakeholders to ensure their projects have the design support they need. This might entail spending time designing assets, sitting down with channel managers to strategise effective campaign tactics, or working with third-party vendors to produce branded collateral for events or collaborating closely with product designers to define and develop the UI for design systems or giving feedback on product designs. I like to flex design thinking across various teams and to brainstorm and execute on design ideas where brand can be leveraged.

My approach is simple—the best brand work is one that is thoughtful, flexible, scalable and above all emotional. My goal is to differentiate a brand from its competitors and create an experience that connects customers to a common purpose and bring value to a product by providing a North Star for a clear and consistent customer experience. I look at every brief as a problem to be solved. I consider what message is trying to be conveyed and how it can be visualised in line with its identity. I like to make mood boards to review the type of imagery, graphic elements, and colour schemes I’m planning to incorporate. Whenever possible, I like to have access to metrics such as conversion rates, user feedback, and click-throughs to gauge how well the content performs.

I’m always open to feedback and like to remain communicative throughout the process to change gears and redirect a project if we’re not on track. I’m very comfortable collaborating with in-house and outside teams on a project. I understand the best outbound file types for deliverables based on viewing and printing needs. I take every step possible to ensure a smooth hand-off at the end of a project. I’ve found that regular communication is the best way to make sure that happens.

Whether I’m in the office or at home, I’m very organised and like to schedule my tasks for the day and week to stay accountable and meet my deadlines. I’ve led a small team of designers, so I’m comfortable managing shifting priorities, project management, art directing, and providing career mentorship for my teammates.
